Cheers to A golden era!

With Sandalwood revelling in a golden era where good films are the rage, and work of newcomers is being  recognised and awarded on various platforms, the ensuing fracas and misunderstandings between actors, crew, and technicians seem to have spoilt the fun to a large extent. Recent incidents involving star actors, producers and directors have left a bad taste in our mouths. So, it seems time for some good news involving our heroes!

“Not all is lost” when it comes to expressing support and appreciation for each other, especially after Challenging Star Darshan ended his years-long friendship with Kiccha Sudeep with just a tweet. Ever the gentleman, Kiccha refused to react to the provocation, even as the friendship ended on a bitter note. In fact, Kiccha has always been the first to wish his colleagues on special occasions in their career and loves sharing their highs with them. This time, he took no time in congratulating Golden Star Ganesh, who marks 11 years in the film industry since his first film Chellata, which released way back in April 21, 2006, wherein he made his debut in a lead role. His second film Mungaru Male then went on to make him an overnight star.

“Congrats on an awesome 11 golden years, my friend. You are a great talent, and I wish you many many more successful years. Cheers,” Kiccha tweeted, to which Golden Star humbly replied, “Thank you very much for your golden words Kiccha Sudeep Sir. Cheers.” Following the sweet exchange of tweets, happy fans too joined in the celebration, some even hoping that the erstwhile old friends Darshan and Kiccha will soon patch up in a similar manner.

It can be recalled that in the past, Darshan had tweeted saying, “Me and Sudeep aren’t friends anymore. We are just actors working for the Kannada industry. No more speculations please. That’s the end of it.” It indeed surprised fans and the fraternity as their friendship dates back to at least 15 years. However, the Challenging Star himself again clarified saying that it was his prerogative, to have chosen to react after careful consideration of certain events.

While questions over these “certain events,” remains unanswered, it is alleged that Darshan was irked with an old interview of Sudeep, wherein the actor had reportedly said that the movie Majestic which is Darshan’s hit debut was actually first offered to him, but he eventually recommended Darshan for it. After a lot of discussion and conspiracy theories doing the rounds, the issue died a quick death, along with their friendship. Earlier, actor Dhananjay had also openly expressed dissatisfaction against his own guru director Guru Prasad and this further dented Sandalwood’s image. Wish many other “golden” words, in the right spirit, will resolve differences.
