The Kannada film, titled Ranam, is a complete commercial masala venture featuring scores of star actors including Chirranjeivi Sarjaa, Chetan  and probably even Challenging Star Darshan in a special appearance role. The actress who is awaiting the release of her long pending film By Pass Road, is thrilled about her bilingual project, as she speaks with Bengaluru Chronicle about her return journey along with another untitled film which she has just signed in Telugu.

“After my first movie in Kannada got delayed due to some reasons, I was very active in modelling. I was content with the quality and quantity of work I was being offered as a model. In between, the cinematographer with whom I worked in my first movie told me about the bilingual film, which is total commercial venture wherein I play a college girl. It’s fun to work in both language with a lot of star actors doing special appearances. In Telugu it is titled Jaisena,” says Nithu.

The pretty doctor who hails from Hassan, did her schooling in Kendriya Vidyalaya Ambala and dentistry from M.S. Ramaiah Dental College.

After her father retired from the Army, Nithu settled with her family in Hassan while practicing dentistry. Later she moved into Bengaluru to realise her childhood dream of acting in films.

“I do practice dentistry once a while when I am not shooting for advertisements, and now movies. I do plan to continue my practice in the future, but for now I am happy facing the camera. Since the film revolves around a bunch of college students, it is a mix of every emotion. Though it is a commercial venture, it comes with a message in the end, and all I can reveal is that it about farmer’s issue,” she adds.

On the interesting shift in her career, from dentistry to modelling, she reveals that she started working with the popular model co-ordinator, Anil Anand, who has launched stars like Deepika Padukone in the modelling industry. “Eventually, contacts lead me to several assignment. It’s fun, quick and satisfying. However, I have certain do’s and don’ts when it comes to accepting modelling assignments. Though my parents never interfered or restricted me from wearing costumes like the bikini, I chose not to accept them. I guess, I never felt comfortable with it,” she explains.

Also a sports enthusiast, she played badminton and volleyball for inter-college competitions during her academics.

It was fun shooting with Sadhu Kokila sir, she says adding that she will soon start shooting for the Kannada version which is being produced by R Srinivas. Nithu signs off by saying that she has also signed another Telugu movie which will be launched in August.
