Priyanka Chopra Reveals Massive Budget for SS Rajamouli’s ‘Varanasi’
Priyanka’s revelation has gone viral on social media, leaving everyone stunned by the scale of the production.
Director SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi has been hitting the headlines ever since its announcement two years ago. It went on the floors earlier this year. The multi-lingual release has become the talk of the town long before its release. Varanasi features Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles.
While appearing as a guest on the celebrity talk show The Kapil Sharma Show Season 4, Priyanka Chopra revealed that the Rajamouli-Mahesh Babu collaboration is being made on a staggering budget of Rs 1,300 crore.
This makes it the highest-budget film in the history of southern cinema and the costliest project of Rajamouli’s career. Since the budget of Ranbir Kapoor's Ramayana movies is Rs 4,000 crore, Varanasi has to be the second most-expensive one in India's cinematic history.

Varanasi also features Prithviraj Sukumaran, with music composed by MM Keeravaani. The film is produced by KL Narayana and SS Karthikeya and is set for a grand theatrical release in 2027.
