What to Watch' for the week ending January 13

We are just into the second week of the new year are tensions are already significantly rising in the world of entertainment. Rajamouli’s pan-India blockbuster ‘RRR’, which is making waves worldwide, heads toward Golden Globes this week.
Just like the Oscars, it is going to be an early morning telecast for Indians who want to know the fate that awaits Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘RRR’. The movie is contending in best picture — non-English and best original song — motion picture (for Telugu song ‘Naatu Naatu’…) categories. The award ceremony will be held on January 11.
Directors Prashant Nair and Randeep Jha have revisited the Uphaar cinema tragedy in their upcoming release ‘Trial by Fire.’ Abhay Deol, Anupam Kher, Ratna Pathak Shah are among others who have been roped in to tell us once again what the families of those who died in the movie halls went through. ‘Trial by Fire’ releases on January 13.
‘Dog Gone’ is a tale that is bound to be loved by animal lovers. A young man sets out on an incredible search with his parents to find his missing dog and give him life-saving medication. The movie will screen on January 13.
The second season of the historical drama Vikings Valhalla will stream on January 12. The show is likely to be violent, dark, and exciting.
Have you heard about Kai, a homeless hitchhiker who first became an internet sensation and then was imprisoned for murder? ‘The Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker’, another documentary after ‘Mumbai Mafia’, will stream on January 10.
It’s not Wimbledon time but that doesn’t mean tennis fans should feel left out. The documentary ‘Break Point’ premiers on January 13. It deals with the lives of tennis players on and off the court. While this is the first part, second part will be released in June.
The OTT platform is coming up with lots of fresh shows and new seasons of old series this week. Besides, new episodes of ongoing series will also be aired. Season 1 of ‘Koala Man’ will be released on January 10. Similarly, the first season of ‘Chasing Waves’, ‘Will Trent’, ‘Gaannibal’, and ‘Big Bet’ will be dropped on January 11. Similarly, second season of Tokoyo Revengers will be aired on January 8.
‘Hunters’ is back and Season 2 promises to be even more exciting. After an accident derails their exploits in Europe, the Hunters must get together again to hunt down history’s most infamous Nazi – Adolf Hitler who is hiding in South America. The show, starring Al Pacino and Logan Lerman among others, will stream on January 13.
Also, Ajay Devgn’s ‘Drishyam 2’ which has had a spectacular run at the Box Office is likely to be available for all Prime subscribers this week. It was already available for Rent.
The OTT is going strong, especially after its Prabhas episodes. Next, it has also brought a Korean drama to its audiences. ‘School 2017’ is the story of students who survive in a school that discriminates against the rich and poor. The Telugu dubbed K-drama premiered on January 7. The story revolves around a cheerful and kind-hearted 18-year-old, Ra Eun-ho who dreams of becoming a webtoon artist but finds herself caught in the search for Student X, a mysterious troublemaker. As many as 16 episodes are already up.
