Kalpika's Father Seeks Psychiatric Help for Her
The father of actress Kalpika Ganesh has filed a police complaint seeking assistance with his daughter's health condition.
Hyderabad: The father of actress Kalpika Ganesh has approached the Gachibowli police, requesting assistance in admitting his daughter to a mental health facility, citing erratic behaviour and alleged suicidal tendencies.
In a complaint filed earlier this week, Sanghwar Ganesh stated that Kalpika had undergone surgery in 2023 but had stopped her prescribed medication two years ago. Since then, he alleged, she has been battling depression and has attempted suicide on at least two occasions.
He said the family learned in May 2023 that Kalpika had been diagnosed with Borderline Narcissistic Disorder and was treated at a private hospital in Banjara Hills. He also noted that she received further treatment in July at another private hospital in Gowlidoddi.
Ganesh further alleged that Kalpika had become a public nuisance and was creating disturbances. He submitted medical records in support of his plea and urged police to facilitate her admission to a hospital under the provisions of the Mental Healthcare Act.
Police said a case has been registered under Section 23 of the Mental Healthcare Act and the complaint is being verified. The actress or her representatives have not responded so far.
Last week, a case was booked against Kalpika by the Gachibowli police after an altercation at a pub in the area. She was also reportedly seen misbehaving with a staff member at a resort in Mokila.
