NTR’s War 2 Losing Steam In Telugu States, Big Fall On Day Two?
After a sensational opening in the Telugu states, NTR’s debut Hindi film War 2 witnessed a steep drop in collections on its second day.
After a sensational opening in the Telugu states, NTR’s debut Hindi film War 2 witnessed a steep drop in collections on its second day. “The spy thriller collected ₹12 crore net on day two, compared to ₹22 crore on day one—marking a 40–50% drop, which is quite alarming,” says a distributor.
He adds, “NTR proved his crowd-pulling power with a thunderous opening, but the over-the-top action and illogical sequences seem to have dented its prospects.”
Hrithik Roshan even flew down to Hyderabad to promote the film and boost its chances at the Telugu box office. “NTR showcased his unprecedented fan following at the event, but so far it’s mostly hardcore Nandamuri fans who have turned up.
The film needs a wider audience in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to sustain momentum,” the distributor points out.
Industry insiders feel NTR may have chosen the wrong project for his Hindi debut. “He seems to have been carried away by the brand value of the War franchise and its RAW-agent heroics.
But without a solid script, the gamble could backfire if collections don’t pick up soon,” a trade analyst remarks.
So far, the film has grossed over ₹80 crore across India, with the Telugu states contributing around ₹35 crore. But with a long way to go to reach safe zone, the coming weekend will be crucial for War 2.
