NTR’s War 2 Clocks ₹23 Crore Nett. On Day One in Telugu States

As trade circles predicted, Jr NTR showcased his massive crowd-pulling power in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, raking in over ₹32 crore gross on opening day.

“It managed ₹23 crore net collections in the Telugu states, reaffirming his star power,” says a distributor. He adds, “NTR played a villain in his Hindi debut — which disappointed some die-hard fans — yet he proved he can pull off even a negative role with ease.”

However, the spy thriller, which also stars Hrithik Roshan, is facing criticism from both social media and critics over its content. “The film missed some basic logic, relying heavily on the heroic feats of its two big stars, and lost the plot amid all the gloss. This could dent collections in the coming days,” the distributor observes.

After blockbuster turns in RRR and Devara, NTR has experimented with a darker role to broaden his repertoire. “This holiday weekend is crucial.

Day one was strong, but the film needs to sustain momentum — otherwise, recovery will be difficult for buyers,” he concludes.
