After taking on a significant role in Tamil star Dhanush’s Kubera, the actor has now shared screen space with superstar Rajinikanth in Coolie, exploring diverse characters and expanding his repertoire.
Director Hemanth Madhukar lauded the actor’s efforts, saying, “Nagarjuna has delivered a decent and dignified performance in a negative role and won appreciation. Doing roles with varied shades has become the new trend, and Nagarjuna is embracing it wholeheartedly.” He further added that the actor will return as a protagonist in his landmark 100th film, directed by Tamil filmmaker Ra Karthik, which is expected to broaden his fan base across regions.
Known for choosing roles that suit his stature, Nagarjuna’s stylish look in Coolie has already created a buzz and his long hair recevied applause even from superstar Rajinkainth. “His last outing as a hero, Naa Saami Ranga, turned out to be a money-spinner. Meanwhile, he is picking prominent roles in big films to showcase his acting skills. He will begin his next project as a hero once the right script comes along,” Madhukar revealed.
Interestingly, the Hello Brother actor is said to have an almost parallel role to Dhanush in Kubera, raising expectations for the film.
“The makers wanted a seasoned performer to make it a gripping multi-starrer. Nagarjuna was the ideal choice, given his experience and command over the craft. His pairing with Dhanush is sure to light up the screens,” he concluded.
