A viral video of Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta has sparked a discussion in recent days. In the video, she was seen crying and alleging ongoing harassment in her own home over the past five years.
She attributed the emotional breakdown in the video to the "pain, stress, and fear" she has experienced since her involvement in the #MeToo movement in India, which she sparked in 2018 by accusing actor Nana Patekar of sexual harassment on the sets of the film Horn Ok Pleasss in 2008.
Tanushree Dutta has iterated that the video was not a publicity stunt. The former Miss India Universe, who is known for films like Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Dhol, and Bhagam Bhag, suggested that her credibility can't be called into question. She described the harassment as a response to her #MeToo allegations, claiming that "serious and dangerous things" have been happening to her since 2018.
