Visva Records Launches OutStation, India’s First Global-Calibre Teen Boy Band
Savan Kotecha teams up with Republic Records and Universal Music India to debut five-member pop group aimed at Indian youth
In a game-changing move for India’s pop music landscape, Visva Records India — the imprint label of Grammy-nominated global hitmaker Savan Kotecha — has unveiled OutStation, India’s newest teen boy band poised to capture the imagination of the country’s youth. The launch is a joint effort with Republic Records and Universal Music India.
Billed as India's first international-calibre boy band, OutStation features five fresh talents aged 17 to 22, each selected through a rigorous nationwide search followed by a bootcamp in Goa.
Representing India’s diversity, the band includes:
-
Bhuvan Shetty (22) – Udupi
-
Hemang Singh (20) – Prayagraj
-
Mashaal Shaikh (21) – Goa
-
Kurien Sebastian (20) – Malayali, raised in Delhi
-
Shayan Pattem (17) – Army kid from Hyderabad
The group was formed after a month-long training and grooming process involving thousands of aspirants.
A Vision Backed by Global Expertise
The brain behind the project, Savan Kotecha, is no stranger to global stardom, having written hits for One Direction, The Weeknd, and Ariana Grande, and most recently co-writing Ed Sheeran and Arijit Singh’s Sapphire, which topped Spotify India charts. “India has always been full of talent, but never had a teen pop group that truly represents its youth and diversity,” said Kotecha. “OutStation is for today’s India — ambitious, expressive, and ready to make global waves.”
More Than Just a Band
OutStation is Visva Records’ bold attempt to reimagine India’s music future by tapping into the teen pop genre — one long-dominated globally by K-pop and Western boy bands. Kotecha’s label already boasts multiple spots on the Spotify Global Charts through the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack and is now eyeing homegrown pop as the next frontier. With carefully curated talent, modern sound, and an experienced global team at the helm, OutStation is set to become the face of India’s next-gen pop culture.
