Hyderabad Hosts Bayan-e-Ghalib: A Unique Cultural Tribute to Mirza Ghalib

Bayan-e-Ghalib, a unique cultural tribute to Mirza Ghalib, blended ghazals and Kathak dance to celebrate the legendary poet's legacy at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad, drawing over 1,500 attendees.

The cultural tribute "Bayan-e-Ghalib," a rare blend of ghazals and Kathak dance, celebrated the life and legacy of the legendary Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib at Shilpakala Vedika in Madhapur on Saturday. The event, which attracted over 1,500 attendees, showcased the timeless beauty of Ghalib's poetry, highlighting themes of love, loss, and human emotion.


The evening featured a soulful performance of ghazals by Dr Prabha Srivastava, a renowned artist dedicated to reviving the art form. Her renditions captivated the audience, breathing life into Ghalib's evocative verses. Complementing the ghazals, Prof. Kumkum Dhar and her troupe performed a Kathak dance drama, blending expressive movement with the poetry's depth.


The event’s narration was provided by scholars Syed Kabeer Ahmad, who recounted Ghalib’s life journey, and Sudhanshu Mani, the show's producer and visionary behind the Vande Bharat Express. The stage and lighting were managed by Gopal Sinha, adding to the event's ambiance.

Dr Koustubh Dhumal, CEO of Maanaviya Kalyan Trust, and Sudhanshu Mani shared that after a successful run in Lucknow, the show had arrived in Hyderabad, with plans to stage it in New Delhi soon.


In addition to the cultural tribute, the event also marked the launch of Anand Kutumb, a senior assisted living community, announced by Padmaja Patil. She highlighted the trust's commitment to social causes, including providing free IVF treatment for underprivileged individuals through a new center at KIMS in Hubli, set to open in February.


The "Bayan-e-Ghalib" event was sponsored by Anand Kutumb Senior Community Living, which offers a vibrant and supportive environment for seniors. The show was free for senior citizens and caregivers, reflecting the event's spirit of inclusivity and community support.


Maanaviya Kalyan Trust, dedicated to addressing critical societal needs, also aims to expand its initiatives in senior care, healthcare, and affordable fertility treatment, making this cultural evening an inspiring fusion of art and social cause.
