Electronic duo Lost Stories is the only DJ duo to represent India at Tomorrowland 2017. They talk about premiering new music, fusions and more.

Music lovers from across the globe will agree that Tomorrowland is one of the world’s most sought-after dance festivals. And representing India (also the only Indian artistes to play at the festival) are Lost Stories’ Prayag Mehta and Rishab Joshi. Being Gujarati boys from Mumbai, they say that this dream was far-fetched, but it did come true back in 2015, and now again.

“Tomorrowland is a festival that every DJ has dreamed of performing at. This year we are performing at one of the biggest stages and also at the six curated pre-parties by Budweiser and Tomorrowland,” Prayag says, adding, “This year is extremely special for us also because we are performing for the second time. This will be our chance not only to cement our places as DJs but also producers. Production is where we started off and to get a chance to showcase it on the world’s biggest stage is nothing short of a feat. We will choose a few of the best tracks that are pouring in and make them a part of our set for the event. Also, we are excited to present to the world our modish sounds with Indian ethnic elements.”  After the festival, they also plan to tour the US, Dubai and UK. About the differences they find while performing at music festivals in India versus the international counterparts, Rishab shares, “The standards of international music festivals are high in terms of logistics, hospitality and management. We believe that Indian music festivals will reach there soon.”

The duo is famous for their official remixes of Alan Walker’s Faded and One Republic’s Wherever I Go. Apart from that, their cover of Justin Bieber’s Sorry with Armaan Malik, has more than half a million views on YouTube.

Their latest release India with Jetfire  and Carta, just released. And they explain that their upcoming single Spread the Fire is a summer anthem with vocals from Marc Wulf, which will be released by Spinnin’ Records next month. “The single has catchy vocals with pop influence and a trademark Lost Stories sound to it. Paradise, which is also signed to Spinnin’ will release later this year. “We wanted to create a composition which artistes can not only play in their sets but also use as background music for videos,” Rishab says. The track has a long intro gradually fading into vocals recorded by Rishab and finally to the drop which is full of energy. Talking about their biggest achievements, Prayag explains, “We have had several feathers in our hat since the inception of our band. From playing alongside stalwarts like DJ Tiesto to having several No. 1 singles to playing at Tomorrowland, MysteryLand, not to forget being voted as the world’s number 52 DJ by DJ Mag, are some of the few achievements.”
