Musician Sattiraju Venu Madhav no more
Carnatic musician Sattiraju Venu Madhav had a heart attack.
Sattiraju Venu Madhav, well-known Carnatic musician and composer died at a young age in Hyderabad due to heart failure. Many musicians from twin cities expressed shock over his death.
Venu Madhav started his music career in Guntur before coming to Hyderabad. He took training in Government music college, Ramkote.
As a young promising musician participating in a music show on Television, he was guided by renowned singer S.P. Balasubramaniam to stick to classical music.
He was deeply influenced by the tremendous work undertaken by Sri Nedunuri Krishnamurthy and decided to dedicate his life to propagation of Annamacharya compositions.
Venu Madhav was a very co-operative artiste and composed rare Annamacharya Kirtans to release an exclusive CD. K. Rajgopalacharya, Lecturer in Government Music College, Ramkote.
“Venu was an excellent human being and was concerned about the welfare of others. He was very particular about the ‘diction’ of words while singing.” says T P Balasubramaniam, Mridangam artiste.
Kolanka Anil and Sai , Violinists say, “Venu Madhav had extraordinary musical talent. In the year 2010, he brought out a compilation of 108 Annamacharya Sankeertanas in 108 ragas titled Annamaya Padamandakini. “
Another known vocalist Harini Rao says, “Venu Madhav was a very down to earth person. Even though he was an accomplished musician, on a rare occasion he helped me in setting the sound system for my program. After the concert, he even discussed in detail about the rendition of a particular phrase sung by me.”
