Kozhikode: Political differences did not deter them from being part of a music album for their alumni association. Some of the top leaders of various political parties in the district are part of the album, ‘Krishnagiriyile Bodhi’, written by Sudev B, a former student of Zamorin’s Guruvayoorappan College. Kozhikode North MLA A Pradeep Kumar, DCC president T. Siddique and BJP state general secretary K Surendran are some of the former students of the college and they are among the 500 plus members of the ‘Bodhi Charitable society’, formed in 2016, and includes former students, teachers, non-teaching staff and current teachers and non-teaching staff.

All the members are required to pay Rs 100 per month to the fund and in the first year, more than Rs 5 lakh was raised. In the last year, the fund was utilised to start regular scholarships for deserving students from the college and the treatment of any of the students or teachers or non-teaching staff. They claim to be the first charitable society formed with the presence of students, teachers and non-teaching staff.

Historian MGS Narayanan and writer T.P . Rajeevan are also part of the album. Philip John is the cinematographer and the song is sung by Sreejay Raja.  Krishnagiri is the mountain where the college is situated, on which the title of the album is based.
