Irina Chkourindina, an internationally-acclaimed pianist, will perform in the capital city today. A graduate in classical piano, she often assumes the role of a concert pianist, chamber musician, accompanist and musical dramatist. Irina has won numerous interational competitions. She won her first prize at the age of 13 at the Usti nad Labem in Czechoslovakia.
When she was 16, she won the China International Piano Competition, and at 22 the Moscow National Accompanist Competition.
She joined Trio Arc in 2008 and has been performing regularly with them at Swiss venues such as Wettingen, Baden, Aarau and Compesières. She has performed in three literary concerts with actor-director Alain Carre's theaterical adaptation of the tumultuous romantic life of Franz LIszt.
