Actress Mrunal Thakur has recently found herself in the headlines for an old controversy. A video from ten years ago has resurfaced, showing her making comments about actress Bipasha Basu, the star female lead of the 2000s Hindi cinema. This prompted Bipasha to post a story on social media that read, "Strong women lift each other. Bust the age-old thought process."

Bipasha Basu's post went viral, leading to a public apology from the Hi Nanna beauty. The Family Star actress addressed the situation, stating, "19-year-old me, as a teenager, said many silly things. I didn’t always understand the weight of my voice or how much words, even in jest, could hurt. But they did, and for that, I am deeply sorry.”

She clarified that her intent was never to "body-shame" and described the comments as "playful banter in an interview that went too far." She concluded by saying, "With time, I have grown to appreciate that beauty comes in every form, and that’s something I truly value now.”

Although Bipasha didn't demand an apology, many netizens used the old video to troll Mrunal. The Sita Ramam actress felt she should tender a sincere apology.
