Remya Nambeesan, who is extremely busy in Malayalam and Telugu, is back in Tamil with Sethupathi. The bubbly actress says that she is choosy about her scripts and does not want to be typecast. Remya talks about the comfort level she has with Vijay Sethupathi, and much more, in this exclusive with DC.

About why she is not seen often in Tamil — “It was not a deliberate move. Now, after Sethupathi’s hit, I am hearing a few scripts here.” Her Malayalam and Kannada commitments also keep her busy. “I am debuting in Kannada with the movie Style King opposite Ganesh. And also I have some films in Malayalam.”

About her hit combo with Vijay Sethupathi, she says, “Yeah, it is the second time after Pizza that I am sharing the screen with him. He is one actor who gives lot of space for his costars and makes them comfortable while shooting. In Pizza, Karthik Subbaraj was very clear about what he wanted from us. He explained the scenes, let us perform, and made changes, if needed.”

Remya says that she is not keen on skin show, and is usually not approached for such characters. A trained Carnatic singer, Remya sung the Tamil song Fy Fy Fy Kalaichu Fy from Paandiya Naadu as well as Mama from Sakalakala Vallavan. “I am getting many offers but they don’t interest me. I want to take a break from singing as of now.”

She forcefully denies rumours that she would never get married, saying “As of now, I am happy with my work and staying single.”
