On set-hopping mode
Shine and Suraj Venjaramood tried to visit the sets of Baahubali during the filming of Tiyan in Hyderabad.
When his last two films with him in the lead hit the screens, Shine Tom Chacko was busy with the shoot of Prithviraj-starrer Tiyan at Ramoji film city in Hyderabad. The shoot was initially planned for more than two months and was reported to be filmed in a single schedule. However the actor has come back to Kerala, since the schedule got broken.
“Due to unexpected rains around Hyderabad, we had to stop the production. The majority of the portions were filmed on the sets inside the film city,” says the actor adding “As it is a scheduled break, most actors have joined other projects. The rest of the film will be shot in a few months.”
During the filming of Tiyan, Shine along with co-actor Suraj Venjaramood tried to visit the sets of Baahubali — The conclusion, which was also shooting at Ramoji film city.
“On a day when we had no shoot, I went to the sets of Baahubali along with Suraj chettan. We were sure that no one would identify us, though we are actors. Our only intention was to witness the making of such a big project. Unfortunately, some people in the production team recognized Suraj chettan as some his films have released there with Telugu dubbed tracks and he is a national award winner. Within seconds, we scooted from there,” he laughs.
Interestingly, Ann Maria Kalippilaanu in which he essays a pivotal role is all set to release there in Telugu. He was seen as a goon in the film.
The actor says that he is bidding adieu to his thug avatar. “In around three films which reached theatres, I have acted as a thug. Now I am happy that my upcoming films are completely different roles. In Kariyila, I play the role of a doctor. After this film, I will join the sets of debutant directors Suneesh-Ajith’s yet-to-be titled film. I will be acting as a professor in that film, which has Aparna Gopinath in the female lead role,” says Shine.
When asked about his role in Tiyan, which has Indrajith and Prithviraj in the lead roles, he says, “I am not allowed to comment about the story details and about my role in the film.”
