In a scene from the movie Ee. Ma Yau., Vinayaka’s character Ayyappan asks Chemban Vinod’s Eeshi about his wife Sabeth’s educational qualification. Eeshi replies that he is not sure if it is BA or B.com. However, Arya who portrayed Sabeth, holds Masters in Fine Arts in real life and is clueless how she brought out that magical performance from her hat.

Though she was active in school and college fests, she never thought of becoming an actor. “I would like to give the credit to Ratheish Kumar, director of my first movie Thrissivaperoor Kliptham in which I did a small role that hardly lasted for a minute on screen. I used to act in drama as part of college festivals and accidentally caught the eye of Ratheish Kumar. That’s how I marked my debut,” says Arya.

It was Chemban Vinod who contacted Arya with an offer to audition for Ee.Ma.Yau.  It was a nervous moment, she says. “I had an idea about the movie, but  was completely blown away when I listened to the script. I don’t like to go to a funeral. Nobody likes it. But acting in a movie like Ee. Ma. Yau. was like being in the middle of a funeral. It was such a unique experience. Though I felt comfortable working with the team, I had some hurdles before me. The first one was to tackle the slang. It was too hard. Pauly chechi (Pauly Wilson) who played the role of my mother-in-law, really helped with the slang. Another obstacle I had to cross was giving a realistic touch. I had too many intense scenes, but I could perform well, thanks to Lijo who was so flexible with every member of the crew,” adds Arya.

Swathanthryam Ardhrathriyil is another movie in which she acted alongside Vinayakan. She says, “Working with people I know was very relaxing and I had a great time during the shooting,” says  Arya, who loves to paint. It is one of her favourite things. Acting has never been her first love, but she is confident to carry both forward. Her husband Prajeesh who is a creative director at a company is her biggest supporter.   Now, Arya is eagerly waiting for the release of her upcoming movie French Viplavam in which she plays opposite to Sunny Wayne. Ask her about the experience  working in the romantic comedy, she says, “It was very good. Those were the days when I realised doing comedy is the hardest thing as an actor,” smiles Arya. Opportunities are pouring in for her and she is hoping to do more challenging roles in future. She lives at Vennala with her husband and daughter.
