Actor received two SIIMA awards – one for himself as the Most Popular Star in Middle East, and the other, for Pranav, the best debutant actor.

It was double delight for Mohanlal at the eighth edition of the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) Awards 2019 held in Doha. He received two awards – one, for himself, the Most Popular Star in the Middle East, and the other, on behalf of his son Pranav, the best debutant actor in Malayalam.

In Malayalam, Sudani from Nigeria became the best film, and Prithviraj Sukumaran and Tovino Thomas became the best male actors for Koode and Theevandi, respectively.

While Aishwarya Lekshmi bagged the award for best actress for Varathan, the critics award went to Trisha for Hey Jude. Sathyan Anthikkad was adjudged the best director for Njan Prakashan and Sushin Shyam, the best musician for Varathan.

The rest of the winners in Malayalam are: best actor in negative role (Sharafudheen), best actors in supporting roles (Roshan Mathew and Lena), best playback singers (Sithara Krishnakumar and Vijay Yesudas) and best lyricist (Vinay Sasikumar).
