Marakkar gets a release date

Marakkar: Arabikkadalinte Simham, the period film touted to be the most expensive Malayalam movie ever made, according to the makers, will hit the screens on March 26, 2020. Starring Mohanlal, Arjun Sarja, Suniel Shetty, Madhu, Prabhu, Nedumudy Venu, Manju Warrier, Keerthi Suresh, Pranav Mohanlal and Kalyani Priyadarsan, the film is produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and Confident Group.

Directed and co-written by Priyadarshan, the movie is set in the 19th century Kerala, where the naval cheftains protected the land from foreign invasion, especially from the Portuguese. Most of the Rs 100-crore film was shot at Ramoji Rao Film City.
