Kochi: Actor Dileep has pleaded not guilty in the actor abduction and assault case in his bail application filed before the Judicial First Class Magistrate, Angamali. Dileep claimed that the arrest would cause him  irreparable damage  and destroy even his career in the film field. Dileep claimed that the procedure mandated under section 319 of the CrPC should have been followed as he was not made an accused when the chargesheet was filed. He argued that permission of the court should be obtained to make a person accused and that this has not been done in the case.

Police sources claimed that they would  seek  custody of  Dileep and that an application in this regard would be filed. Dileep argued that he had  been falsely implicated and that he was  absolutely innocent. He had already cooperated with the police, explained his innocence and he himself was a complainant. The petitioner appears to be implicated in the case solely based on the uncorroborated statement of an accused who did not even indicate  any involvement of the petitioner though he was questioned for a  number of days after the arrest. The new developments are ill-motivated. There is no trace of evidence against him, the plea said.
