The song Fy Fy Fy..., Remya Nambeesan’s first ever stint as a singer in Tamil, turned out to be a big hit and earned recognition for her voice. As of now, the actress has sung about twenty songs in Malayalam and a handful in Tamil. Now, her cover for the song Yavanna... from the film Sathya, starring Sibiraj and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, is set to be released by RJ Balaji “When I listened to the song for the first time, I liked it so much that I wanted to try it in my own voice.

So, I took it up with Sibiraj and Simone K. King, the composer of the film. Then we had a jamming session at his studio, and eventually came up with the cover,” she elaborates. The original version of Yavanna..., has garnered a commendable response. Singers Kalyani Nair and Yasin have made response versions of it.
It is just a baby step in her journey of making more covers and originals, says Remya.

“I have a plan of coming up with Remya Nambeesan Encore, a platform of sorts, through which I will be producing more original songs. This is mainly because I want the music to be more independent and not only dependent on movies.” On the acting front, Remya is playing one of the leads in Sathya, and has a film called Kurukshetra with Darshan in Kannada. She is playing Duryodhana’s wife Bhanumathi in it. In Tamil, she has Mercury and another film of Balaji Tharaneetharan.
