Actor Unni Mukundan is making big statements by committing some promising roles. The actor made headlines recently for his character in the upcoming epic movie Mamangam in which he shares screen space with Mammootty. Now, his new movie Meppadiyan has started rolling. While Unni will play the male lead, Noorin Shereef and Aparna Janardhanan have been cast as the female leads. While the motion poster of Meppadiyan was out and went viral, it is tipped to be a movie based on some real-life events. Unni Mukundan has a number of other films needing his attention. He has Chocolate Story Retold and Chengazhi Nambiar in different stages of production. Chocolate Story Retold is directed by Binu Peter while the latter is directed by Sidhil Subramanian. Chengazhi Nambiar, like Mamangam, is touted to be a period flick with Unni having an important role to play.   

Satheesh Mohan who bankrolled KL-10, also a Unni starrer, will produce Meppadiyan. Neil D’Cunha will handle the cinematography while Shamir Muhammad does the editing.
