Ranjith Balakrishnan draws flak over Facebook comment
Social media alleged that Ranjith made a comment on a picture uploaded by journalist Maneesh Narayanan.
Kochi: Social media on Monday dragged prominent film director Ranjith Balakrishnan into a controversy over a comment made by an account allegedly belonging to him on a movie critic’s Facebook profile. Social media alleged that Ranjith made a comment on a picture uploaded by journalist Maneesh Narayanan.
“You are enjoying your honeymoon while the filmmaker is showered with insults” the comment read. As the controversial comment went viral, social media criticised the director for making a comment abusing the journo.
Ranjith, however, denied making such a comment. “I am not active on Facebook and I never post comments on it,” he said.
Maneesh Narayanan, a popular movie critic, wrote an online review of Ranjith’s latest movie ‘Leela’ recently. A Facebook profile with the name Ranjith Balakrishnan and picture of the director posted two comments on picture of Maneesh and his wife.
However, within few hours, both the comments were deleted and the account was also got deactivated. Many commented online that Ranjith was irked by Maneesh’s review which criticised the movie.
