Manikandan to direct Ritika Singh
Mani is also confident that Ritika can handle any kind of character.
Mixed martial artist Ritika Singh, who became an overnight sensation with her scintillating performance in Irudhi Suttru, has bagged yet another big film as she is teaming up with award- winning filmmaker Manikandan (of Kakka Muttai fame) for her next movie. And, guess who’s romancing her in the film? It is none other than Vijay Sethupathi, who is basking in the success of Sethupathi!
On choosing Ritika, Manikandan tells DC, “I was floored by her extraordinary performance in Irudhi Suttru and that’s the main reason for casting her opposite Sethupathi.” Ask him if her character has a sports background he laughs and says, “Oh no! She will be a normal city girl in my film and I can’t reveal much about the script at this point of time except it has a city subject.”
Having proved her mettle in a challenging role, Mani is also confident that Ritika can handle any kind of character. R. Madhavan, Ritika’s co-star in Irudhi Suttru, wished her the best for her new project as he wrote “all the best girl (sic)” on Twitter.
