Tragedy on SJ Suryah Film Set Leaves One Dead
Director and actor SJ Suryah is expected to release an official statement soon.
A tragic accident occurred on the set of the upcoming Tamil movie Killer. The incident took place during the early hours of Wednesday at the Binny Mills complex in Chennai. A balloon gas cylinder exploded while the crew filmed a bomb blast scene.
The explosion left one technician dead and three others injured. The deceased worker was identified as twenty-six-year-old Madhan from Maduravoyal. He belonged to the special effects department. The three injured technicians are Sakthivel, Surya, and Dinakaran. Rescue teams rushed all four victims to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital.
Local police arrived at the scene and registered a case. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the blast. Officials are checking if the crew followed proper safety protocols. They are also looking into a possible technical malfunction. Production on the film has been halted.
