The dark thriller DC, directed by Arun Matheswaran, turned out to be a massive success. Produced on a budget of Rs 25 crore, it collected over Rs 80 crore worldwide. The action drama, starring filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj in his acting debut alongside Wamiqa Gabbi and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, was produced by Sun Pictures and generated Rs 18 crore in the Telugu states alone.
The film's success prompted a special gesture from producer Kalanithi Maran, who congratulated director Arun Matheswaran, lead actor Lokesh Kanagaraj, and music composer Anirudh Ravichander by presenting each of them with a brand-new BMW car.
