Raja Ranguski is yet to release, but Shirish, who shot to fame with his debut film Metro, has already signed up for another entertainer titled Pistha. The film is directed by Ramesh Bharathi, who has worked in Shirish’s first as editor.

Shirish says, “Set in Kumbakonam , the film is a rural comedy with a battalion of comedians including Sathish, Sendrayan, Yogi Babu, and Namo Narayanan among others.”

When asked about the antagonist, he says the film hasn’t got any — “The film is 100 per cent fun. So, there is no villain in Pistha as such. It will be a laugh riot. The script has something do with married life.”

Shirish will be romancing two heroines —Mrudhula and Arundhathi Nair of Saithan fame — in the film. “This is the first time I am playing a rural character. Since Kumabakonam area doesn’t have a distinct slang, it is easier to play the role,” he laughs.

Dharan Kumar, the composer of Poda Podi, has been roped in for music and it also marks the twenty fifth of the musician. Pistha will go on floors in Kumbakonam and Karaikudi by August 3. The whole film will be completedby October.
