Still from the song

Recently, the makers of Chiyaan Vikram’s Cobra unveiled the first single, Thumbi Thullal, a romantic melody composed by AR Rahman.

The sound track had strong classical undertones, with lyrics in Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi. Going by the song, we can infer that one of the multiple characters that Vikram essays in the film is a Malayali.

Even as the number, rendered by Shreya Ghoshal, Nakul Abhyankar and ARR, is going viral, the team has come up with the animation visuals for the song, thus generating more interest. Vikram and the leading lady Srinidhi Shetty are seen performing.

Ajay Gnanamuthu of Demonte Colony and Imaikkaa Nodigal fame directs Cobra. It is being produced by Lalit Kumar under the 7 Screen Studio banner.

According to a knowledgeable source, the film has completed 90 days of shooting, and only 25 percent of shooting was pending when the Covid-19-related lockdown forced the team to halt work and return to India from Russia in mid-March.

Meanwhile, the buzz is that Vikram will play a role with grey shades, and lock horns with his son Dhruv in this, his 60th venture, directed by Karthik Subbaraj.
