Touted to be the first-of-its-kind in the world, debutant filmmaker, Shankar Thiyagarajan, has come up with Hexa — with the tagline 6 Adhiyayam — a horror anthology  with six different films directed by six directors. The climaxes of the films then converge into a single ending.

Shankar, besides producing the film, also directed one of the chapters called Ini Thodarum, which deals with child abuse and features Baby Sathanya.

Talking about his experimental film, Shankar says, “I have an IT background and worked in the US for many years. But I love Tamil cinema and the urge to do something experimental was there throughout. I felt that a lot of people had talent and potential — but it remained unutilised. So, when I pitched the idea of Hexa, I got 30 young talents who were interested! We shortlisted five — and adding mine, it became six short films.”

Each of the films, though falling under the bracket of horror, will have different themes. “They are based on different themes such as comedy, love, child abuse, psychological thriller and hardcore horror. There is a 20-second recap of each film before the climax is unveiled. Hope people will lap up the new attempt,” he signs off.
