Mahesh of Angadi Theru fame is back with a powerful role in a film titled Karuppu Aadu. He will seen playing a roadside ice-cream vendor in the movie directed by Vijay Mohan, known in short film circuit and who has also assisted many directors.

Speaking about the movie, Vijay says, "The film is inspired from real life person near Madurai and the shocking incident that happened to him which altered his life altogether. I am addressing an important message in it. Mahesh, who has shed several kilos to look his part, has lived in the character. Akshitha of Nambargal Narpani Mandram plays his pair in a rural role."

Shot wholly in villages around Madurai, the live screenplay is the highlight of the film, Vijay claims. Senthil and Rajalakshmi, the popular folk singer couple has crooned a number in Ronald Regan’s composition. "They also appear on screen in the folk song shot as a temple festival song. I have made it as a music video which will be used as a promo number," he reveals. Marimuthu, Dindugal Dhana, Paul Raj and Madhuraj play supporting roles.
