Aadhav Kannadasan (grandson of the late Kaviarasu Kannadasan) who’s currently busy with the village-based flick Pagal directed by Ezhil Bharathi, has signed a new film titled Vadaname Chandra Bimbamo. Interestingly, the makers have named the film after an old song that was sung by MK Thyagaraja Bhagavathar and penned by Papanasam Sivan in Sivakavi.

Aadhav tells us, “When I asked the director as to why he named the film this way, he had his own reasons. But the film has no historical relevance or anything like that. It’s an intense romantic thriller directed by debutante Srinivas, who has previously worked with Kamal Haasan. It will also have writer Chandrakumar (whose book Visaranai inspired filmmaker Vetrimaaran) in one of the pivotal roles. We’ll start shooting from August onwards in and around Chennai and Munar. The film has an equal mix of comedy and drama.”

Vadaname... will have a few international technicians working in it, such as American clarinet artiste Shankar Tucker as the music director. The makers are in talks with a few heroines, but as of now, nobody has been finalised!
