Gautham Vasudev Menon, who celebrated his birthday recently, went live on Instagram and interacted with his fans. Incidentally, the next day was the 10th anniversary of his classic romance, Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya. Reacting to a query on the possibility of a sequel to VTV, Menon said ‘It is in the pipeline’.

“If Simbu gives his nod, we will make the film. It will be Karthik’s (the name of the character Simbu played) journey. What he does after 10 years will form the crux of the plot,” Gautham was reported to have said.

Asked who would be his choice for VTV2 ‘if not Simbu’, the director replied that the sequel would happen only if Simbu gave the nod. It is the journey of Karthik and I cannot swap the face of the character, he explained.
