Director Gautham Menon has a knack of selecting stories that are close to reality. Be it his directorial films or his production ventures, they follow a similar pattern. As reported earlier, the director has secured the rights of Telugu flick Pelli Choopulu, an award-winning flick directed by Tharun Bhasckar Dhaassyam.

Gautham will be introducing his long-time associate Senthil Veerasamy, as the director in the remake titled Pon Ondru Kandein.

The Tamil version of the film will see Tamannaah and Vishnu Vishal in the shoes of Ritu Varma and Vijay Deverakonda. A source close to the team reveals, “The pre-production work is currently underway and the team is planning to commence shooting by the end of August. Earlier, the film was supposed to go on floors in July, but it got pushed to August due to several reasons. The team is finalising the rest of the cast.” A lot is expected from the lead actors and we hope the team pulls it off with ease.

Meanwhile, it was reported that actress Gayathrie is said to be part of the movie in a crucial role. But, sources close to the actress brushed it off as a rumour.

The technical team of Pon Ondru Kandein, includes composer Darbuka Siva, cinematographer SR Kathir and editor Praveen Antony.

Gautham Menon is currently busy wrapping up his directorial venture Dhruva Natchathiram, while Vishnu Vishal is on a short holiday in Singapore.
