Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi have been lending their voices for major Hollywood productions for desi versions (Hindi). The trend seems to be catching up with K’town as well. We recently saw Vijay Sethupathi and Andrea Jeremiah dubbing for Iron Man and Black Lady in Avengers: Endgame. Now, actor Siddharth has been roped in by Disney India to voice one of history’s most loved movie characters Simba in the Tamil version of The Lion King.

Sharing his excitement Siddharth says, “I can never forget the first time I saw The Lion King on screen as well as on stage. I had an equally unforgettable experience speaking and singing in Tamil as Simba in the spectacular new version of this timeless classic. I can’t wait to see my new avatar in the cinema with my audience.”

Directed by The Jungle Book fame director, Jon Favreau, The Lion King is one of the most-anticipated films of recent times. Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan and his son Aryan Khan will voice Mufasa and Simba characters respectively, in the Hindi dubbbed version of The Lion King. The movie is releasing on July 19 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Meanwhile we hear that the China release of 2.O titled Robot 2.0: Resurgence is likely to be stopped because HY Media, the distributor of the Chinese version feels that they would incur a heavy loss as Disney’s Lion King is scheduled to release around the same time.
