CHENNAI: The Madras high court has stayed the release of Tamil film “Idhu Namma Aalu”, starring Simbu and Nayanthara, scheduled to be released Friday, in respect of North Arcot, South Arcot areas and in the territories assigned to the film’s financier.

Granting an interim injunction on a suit filed by financier Sanjay Kumar Lalwani, Justice M.V. Muralidaran said, “I am of the view that unless Chimbu Cine Arts of T. Nagar, who are producers of the film, settle the entire amount to the financier, he has no right to release the film. The financier has made out a prima facie case against Chimbu Cine Arts.”

Hence, there would be an order of ad-interim injunction restraining Chimbu Cine Arts and others from releasing the film in respect of entire North Arcot, South Arcot and in territories assigned to the financier till  disposal of the suit, the court said.
