Bollywood actress Shweta Tripathi of Masaan fame  forays into Tamil with an untitled flick directed by debutant Saravanan Rajhendran, a former assistant of Balu Mahendra, Kamal Haasan and Raju Murugan. Rangaraj, a popular chef from Coimbatore, is playing the lead role in the movie, which is touted to be a romantic entertainer. Interestingly, award-winning filmmaker Raju Murugan has penned the story and dialogues for the flick.

When DC contacted Saravanan, he confirmed that Shweta has been brought on board for the movie. “Yes, it is an intense romantic movie, which is set in Kodaikkanal. After locking the script, we were looking out for a new guy to play the hero, since we wanted someone without any image trap. Moreover, the role has different dimensions to portray. We chanced upon Rangaraj, a famous chef when we attended a wedding in Kovai. The food was very tasty and we were introduced to Rangaraj, who was behind the delicious spread. Raju Murugan felt that he would be apt for our story and asked if he was interested to act. He happily agreed and after testing him with various looks, we roped him in.”

He adds, “We considered a few girls for the heroine character, which is again crucial and needed certain looks. Shweta  auditioned and we signed her for the project.” The remaining cast and crew details are being worked out and the movie is expected to go on floors on November 27.
