The psychological thriller Kee, which was ready long ago, is finally getting released on April 12. Directed by Kalees, a former assistant to Selvaraghavan, the Jiiva-Nikki Galrani — Anaica Soti film is a cyber crime actioner, which talks about the menace of smart phones.

Speaking at the promo meet, Jiiva said, “Kee has many connotations. ‘Kee’ means key, which opens locks. It can also denote computer keys. Each time you press a comp key, we don’t know whether the repercussions are good or bad.  In Tholkkappiam, the ancient work on the grammar of Tamil language, there’s a saying that, ‘all good things often also have a bad side to it’. That’s the crux of the film.”

While Jiiva plays a college student and a hacker, Nikki will be seen as his pair. Malayalam actor Govind Padmasuriya has been roped in to essay a tech savvy antagonist. Anaica plays a reporter. RJ Balaji provides comic relief.

Jiiva said in a lighter vein that he has never been to college in real life, but I act as a student in many films. “I have witnessed this problem. My twitter and Facebook accounts were hacked earlier. Even if you have the most difficult password, the hackers would somehow find out. Especially, there are few who lure women by psychological approach through social media network for their own gains. We have to be really careful. When Kalees narrated the script, many producers wondered if such things would ever happen, but we are witnessing them in front of our eyes now.” Kee bankrolled by Michael Rayappan also has T’town veteran Rajhendra Prasad and Suhasini in key roles.
