Even the earlier picture of her smoking from a chillum, which ran in to trouble is precisely needed for the film, he claims.

Still from Maha

Hansika Motwani’s first look from her 50th film Maha released recently where she is seen in a saffron outfit smoking ganja along with the gurus in Varanasi, has landed her in a controversy. A few self-styled patrons of Hindu culture and traditions had filed a complaint against the makers and the actress, but the issue got sorted out.

Now yet another look where she is wearing a burqa and praying in front of a mosque, while a ghost like figure (which is also Hansika) with a gun in her hands stands behind her aiming to kill her is also out. The look suggests that the Aranmanai star might portray a Muslim girl in Maha. The movie is directed by Jameel and has Ghibran composing the music.

When DC contacted Mathi, the producer of the film,  he categorically denied that they were doing anything for the sake of publicity. Though he was unwilling to give out much about the story, he said, “Maha is the first women-centric movie in Hansika’s career. The script demanded such looks and when you watch the movie, you will know the reasons. And the film is shaping up really well.”

Even the earlier picture of her smoking from a chillum, which ran in to trouble is precisely needed for the film, he claims.
