Acting is keeping Samudhrakani busier than direction these days. He’s recently been roped in to play a revolutionist in Isakki Karvannan’s upcoming flick Petti Kadai, a film about a village’s battle against corporate giants.

Talking about the film, Karvannan says, “Samudhrakani plays Samudhira Pandi, a teacher who raises his voice against corporate products and reveals how they pose a major threat to the small independent shops run by local families. Veera plays one of the film’s heroes, and Chandini Tamizharasan and Varsha are the female leads.”

The director adds, “The major difference is that independent shops sell products that are daily necessities, while corporate supermarkets use advertising and false promises to get people to buy products that are often hazardous to health.”

The film’s cast also features Sundar and Asmitha. The music has been composed by Maria Manohar.
