Suriya, who was away with his acting commitments for the last two years on his birthday, finally was in the city for this year’s special day. The actor, who turned 41, took a break from his Singam III shoot, and met his ardent fans who had gathered from all over Tamil Nadu, to interact and take a picture with their matinee idol.

The 24 actor said that it was heartwarming to see his fans after a gap — “It gives me immense happiness and I feel proud that you have been involved in several welfare measures. All the same, I humbly request you all to take care of your families first, your jobs next; later comes your activities in welfare association.”

The actor also advised his fans to plant saplings, educate at least one child,  and follow road safety rules among others. Charity ventures also marked the actor’s birthday. There were blood donation camps at Government hospitals, annadhanam at various senior citizen homes and orphanages, abhishekams at various temples, etc. Suriya stood for pictures with 6000-odd fans patiently!
Meanwhile, the team of the film Sei, including its music composer NyX Lopez, singer Mohit along with creative help from Suriya’s hardcore fan Yuvaraj, have released a reloaded version of Suriya’s evergreen national award-winning romantic song, Munbe Vaa (originally composed by AR Rahman) dedicating it to the Anjaan star.
