Prithivirajan plays an ardent fan of yesteryear hero Karthik in his forthcoming film Kadhal Munnettra Kazhagam. A period film set in 1985, it is directed by Manik Sathya and has Chandhini Tamilarasan portraying Prithivi’s pair.
Speaking to DC, Manik says, “Set in a rural milieu, the hero is a jobless guy who roams around with friends. He heads Karthik Rasigar Mandram and apes his matinee idol including his hairstyle, costumes etc. Chandhini essays a teacher. The film speaks of friendship, love, anger and betrayal. I have narrated it in a lively manner.” The audio in PC Sivan’s composition was recently launched. Also, Prithivi’s dad, actor and director Pandiarajan, who watched the film, heaped laurels on Manik saying the 15-minute climax was riveting.
