Michael who made an impressive debut with the critically acclaimed film Burma, is excited about his next — Pathungi Paayanum Thala.  Directed by Moses Muthupandi, a former assistant of SA Chandrashekar and Seeman, the movie has Nainikaa as the heroine. Vela Ramamoorthy appears in a crucial role. Singapore Deepan, Singam Puli, MS Bhaskar and Manohar are part of this film promoted as a laugh riot.

At the audio launch, T.Rajhendar spoke in his inimitable style and got applause from the gathering. He said, “Any actor can dance, but one should get the proper expression on the face. That way Michael is a great performer. I have received laurels from Oscar winner AR Rahman, but there are a few who still mock at my music as ‘Dhandanakka’. I don’t really care about them. Those who are educated and have music knowledge have understood my music. That’s more than enough for me.”

Referring to the title of the movie, he said, “I became ‘Thala’ when my debut movie Oru ‘Thalai’ Raagam was released in 1980.” Set in a rural backdrop, the fun-filled romantic comedy has been shot across Theni and Periyakulam and has music by Vallavan. Censors cleared the film with a clean ‘U’ Certificate. Vijay Sethupathi who earlier unveiled the first single was all praise for the team for the genuine laughs.
