Films based on North Madras have  always portrayed people of that area as poor, uneducated, uncouth and notorious. But, Sketch starring Vikram and Tamannaah differs from the rest, says director Vijay Chandar of Vaalu fame.

“In Sketch, I am portraying a different dimension of North Chennai. There are well-known doctors and lawyers representing that area and are doing extremely well in life. My film is a commercial actioner and will be a stylish take on vada Chennai,” Vijay Chandar claims. All said and done, from the title and the first look of Sketch, which was out recently, it looks like Vikram might be playing a local gangster. Art director Mayapandi had erected huge sets, where the scenes in the first schedule were shot. Well-known Bhojpuri and B’town actor Ravi Kishan has been roped in as the antagonist.

Actors Soori, RK Suresh, Arul Das, Malayalam actor Harish, Sriman and Sri Priyanka form the cast. Recently, a lyric video of Kanave Kanave song  which has Vikram as the lead singer was unveiled. Lyrics for the number was  penned by Vijay Chandar  while Thaman composed it.
