Heated arguments marked the audio launch of the film Kee, starring Jiiva- Nikki Galrani in the lead and directed by Kaalis.  Apparently, Michael Rayappan, who had incurred a huge loss due to his earlier movie Anbaanavan Asaraadhavan Adangaadhavan with Simbu, is producing Kee and his complaint with Tamil Film Producers Council remains unsolved.

Taking a dig at Vishal, president of TFPC, producer-turned-actor Thenappan said with dripping sarcasm, "Why is thalavar of producers council sitting on the complaint given by Michael Rayappan on an actor who was responsible for his heavy monetary loss? When he has time to take selfies, why can't he do something for Michael who is suffering?"

Vijay Sethupathi, who was present on the occasion, came out in support of Vishal, saying, "I was wondering if I am sitting in Producers Council or Kee audio launch.  This is the audio launch function of Kee and not a forum for discussing other issues. We are all from the same cinema family. It has to be discussed at a proper place. Though I am young to the industry, I request people to sort out the issue within our office and not in a public gathering like this."

While responding to the issue, Vishal said, "I am basically an actor and please address me as an actor. All other things like president of TFPC and secretary of Nadigar Sangam came much later.  I sincerely apologise to Michael Rayappan on the delay. It is not that we have not taken any action on the issue. We have sent a letter asking for an explanation, but we haven't received any reply from the other side (STR). I have been asking persistently, I am only a messenger. To resolve the issue, someone should be reachable and accessible, but that's not happening.  So, please wait patiently, soon it will be resolved."

He added that he is postponing his film Irumbu Thirai's release, which has been scheduled for February 9 for the sake of Kee, which is also planned for the same day, paving the way for good theatres. "I am also willing to give dates for Michael Rayappan sir for a film without taking an advance and he can pay me once the business is done," he declared.
