As the protest against the jallikattu ban is intensifying day by day, the support that the sport has been getting from all over the world seems to be overwhelming. At this juncture, the cine association in Tamil Nadu has announced that they are staging  a hunger strike at the Nadigar Sangam grounds in T Nagar.

Leading actors like Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth and Vijay are expected to join the protest as a form of support. Ajith, who usually doesn’t attend any public gathering, is said to be taking part in the protest this time to voice out his opinion. As a result of a dawn-to-dusk strike, shootings have been cancelled. However, this decision is not being welcomed by the thousands of people at Marina Beach. Many took to Twitter asking the stars and technicians to join them at the beach and not at a place of their convenience. In addition to this, theatre associations across the state have announced that the screening of films has been cancelled.
