Mahavishnu Krishnamoorthy, a standup comedian and the brain behind an event management company is all set to make his entry in Kollywood as a director. For his debut venture, he has roped in Chandran of Kayal fame and Malayalam actress Anju Kurian as the protagonists.

Speaking to DC about his entry, Mahavishnu says, “I was always fascinated by films and was also working in a famous television channel which helped me learn more about the nuances of handling a team. Since I was interested in films, I handled the production and distribution of Karthick Naren’s Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru in Kerala under my banner Writer Imaginations.”

The 22-year-old also reveals why he decided to fund his own venture. “I had met several producers to narrate the story. Many, after listening to the narration said that they liked it but nothing worked out in the long run. Since I have confidence in my script, I decided to fund it. The untitled film is a suspense-based romantic comedy,” he shares, adding, “We have dealt with a subject that is completely new to Tamil cinema and have also added commercial elements to it.”

The director has completed over 90 per cent of the paper work and the pre-production will be wrapped up in a few weeks. Shooting of this yet-to-be-titled venture will go on floors in February 2018 in Chennai and Puducherry. The technical crew includes DOP Ramanan Purushothaman, composer Achu Rajamani, editor Athiyappan Siva, project coordinator Mr. Faruk and art director AR Mohan.
