Coffee brings Rahul and Mugdha together on screen

It appears roping in real life couples playing reel life pair has of late become a fad in K’town.  Real life couples Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan and Kajol and Ajay Devgn have been seen complementing each other with their on-screen performances. The recently released Majili had Samantha Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya as the lead pair.  Sarathkumar and Radhikaa have been roped in for a Mani Ratnam’s production Vaanam Kottatum.  

Now popular Bollywood couple Rahul Dev and Mugdha Godse has been brought on board for a Tamil thriller titled Coffee directed by Sai Krishna. The film has actress Iniya as the central character.

Rahul had played the stylish villain in K’town with the likes of Suriya (Aadhavan), Vijayakanth (Narasimha) and Ajith (Vedalam) while Mugdha had played the crucial role of Arvind Swamy’s wife in Thani Oruvan.  

Iniya will be seen as a powerful cop named Sathyabhama in Coffee. “This is a heroine centric film and will give me a firm foot in K’town,” Iniya tells DC. It is learnt that while Rahul plays the lead antagonist, Mugdha will be seen as a key member in his team.

The film reportedly deals with stalking menace which threatens all of us and brings awareness to the dangerous situation we are in. Others in the cast include Ramachandran Durairaj, Soundararajan and Dharani Vasudevan.  Venkatesh S does the cinematography and Venkat Nath has scored the music.
