Vijay's impromptu dance with Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Anirudh Ravichander wowed the audience.

Thalapathy Vijay is known for making political statements through the kutti kathais (small stories) he delivers during the audio launches of his films.

As such, the Sarcar actor who came under the IT scanner twice recently was expected to take a dig at the government during the audio launch of his much-awaited Master. Though he avoided any direct reference, he took a potshot at his detractors, saying  ‘Kill them with your success, bury them with your smile’.

Vijay broke into an impromptu dance on stage with Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Anirudh Ravichander. They set the stage on fire with their crazy dance moves.

He started with his trademark ‘En Nenjil Kudi irukkum….’ amidst loud applause from the gathering and apologised for not inviting a lot of people. “It was because of the unfortunate incidents that happened to my fans during Bigil audio launch a few months ago. Also, the Coronavirus threat was a reason for not inviting huge numbers”, he said.

Talking about his co-star Vijay Sethupathi who plays an antagonist in Master, Vijay said, “I asked Vijay Sethupathi why he agreed despite his big stature. He said simply, ‘I like you a lot Sir.’ Then I knew, he not only shares my name, but also I’m in his heart!”

Moving on to his famous ‘Kutti story’ Vijay sang the lines 'Elaam Pugazhum ..Nee Nadhi Pole Odi Kondiru'…  from one of his films and said, “As the song goes, our life is like a river. Some people will worship the river by lighting lamps, some will sprinkle flowers and there are also those who throw stones at the water. But just as the river moves on, we have to move on in life. Kill them with your success, bury them with your smile.”

The actor who normally dresses simply, made a style statement with a custom-made suit. Asked about it, he quipped, “My stylist Pallavi always complains that my costumes are boring for events. It was she who suggested this suit. For a change, I thought, I would dress up like my friend Ajith.”

Asked what he would wish for if he could go back 20 years, he said, “I would want the same peaceful life which I had then, as it was devoid of raids. Jokes apart, I am happy even now.”

He thanked the Tamil people for the support they gave him during the Neyveli shoot of Master, when the income tax department halted the work. The actor also took a selfie with the entire team of Master.

He concluded his speech with the punchline: “Sometimes, if we have to stay true, we have to be silent.”
